Suicide Prevention Training
UMKC is proud to be among the 41 campuses across the state of Missouri that use 'Ask. Listen. Refer. (ALR)' to save lives. All students, faculty and staff at UMKC are encouraged to complete this free online suicide prevention training each year.
Ask. Listen. Refer. (ALR)
ALR is a free online suicide prevention program designed to help faculty, staff and students prevent suicide by teaching them several skills.
- Identify people at risk for suicide
- Recognize the risk factors, protective factors and warning signs of suicide among college students
- Respond to and get help for people at risk
Training takes about 20 minutes. Please take the time to learn how to save a life. To learn more about the ALR online suicide prevention training, please visit Partners in Prevention (PIP).
