Case Management

Case Management at UMKC is a resource that provides holistic support to our students facing obstacles that impede their personal or academic achievements. Through student centered support, crisis intervention, and coordination of services, students can strive towards a place of personal wellbeing and empowerment.

How Case Management Helps Students 

  • Crisis intervention for sudden loss of basic needs through coordination of services and resources. 
  • Assistance with navigating community resources or campus resources that best fit your needs. 
  • Creating your own action plan based on your current goals and your strengths.
  • Promoting personal wellbeing and self empowerment.

Faculty and Staff 

For faculty and staff to refer a student to Case Management services, our preferred method is to raise the Case Manager flag in UMKC Connect, but you can also email if necessary.

How it Works

Students are able to make an appointment with Case Management by clicking the below button. All initial appointments should be expected to be approximately 30 minutes. Students will fill out an intake form in the beginning of their meeting in order to determine the best resources and services. Once the initial meeting is completed, students are able to connect with the Case Manager as their schedule permits or as needed.

Location

Case Management is located inside the Student Accessibility Services office, Suite 225 at the Brookside 51 Building. There is no free parking at 5110 Oak Street (Whole Foods / Brookside 51 Building). If you purchased a UMKC parking permit, you can park in the Cherry Street parking garage, in the spaces permitted for student parking. If you do not have a parking permit, you will need to find free parking on the streets near the clinic. Parking at Whole Foods or the church is not permitted and may result in your vehicle being towed or ticketed. If you need accessible parking, please call our office for assistance before your arrival.
