Our mission is to offer every exploratory (undecided) student the opportunity for success through the engagement with faculty and staff, the development of educational plans, the clarification of career and life goals and the appreciation of the value of the core skills developed through UMKC's general education.
Goals of Our Program
We aim to offer all exploratory students the opportunities for success.
Declared major
Our students declare a major by the end of the 3rd semester (45 credit hours) or earlier.
Clear rationale
Students can describe their rationale for their major choice.
Clarification of career and life goals
Students have a network and gain understanding on how to clarify and confirm their goals.
Network of support
Build supportive community network with faculty and staff that encourages achievement of advising goals and degree completion.

UCollege has full-time professional advisors to help direct and facilitate your path to declaring a major. We believe this is an intentional and thoughtful process which should take place early on in your academic career.
