The Laboratory Safety training course was developed by the Health and Safety Institute and is deployed at each of the four University of Missouri campuses. The Laboratory Safety training course is comprised of four modules. There is a quiz at the end of each module.
Any person who works (paid or unpaid) in a laboratory where hazardous chemicals, biological agents, or compressed gases are stored or used is required to complete Laboratory Safety training. EHS does not require students to take this course as part of any academic program, but instructors are free to assign it as a class requirement.
The primary audience for this training are persons performing research under the direction of a faculty member. Course enrollment is initiated automatically when your Supervisor adds you as a worker to his/her Authorized Users List.
If you intend to take this class for reasons other than performing research under a faculty member, send an email and ask to be registered. This usually means your professor/instructor is requiring the training course for an undergraduate laboratory.
