Flexible Work Arrangements
Creating a work-life balance for employees is something UMKC prides itself on. With continual advances in technology and increasing demands in an employee’s personal life, the ability to be flexible is more important than ever as we continue to attract the top talent for our positions. As a result, the university has several flexible work arrangement opportunities for employees to take advantage which allow employees to work outside of the standard 8 a.m.–5 p.m. work schedule and outside of the office location.
Types of flexible work arrangements
- Flexible work schedule
- Compressed work seek
- Flex place
- Release time for employee wellness activities
Flexible work arrangements should support the mission, goals and functional role of the employee, department and university. Take the Flexible Work Arrangement Self Assessment to help determine whether you are prepared to ask your supervisor for a flexible work arrangement. Supervisors can take the Flexible Work Arrangement Readiness Assessment to determine whether or not employees are ready for a flexible working arrangement.
More Information about flexible work arrangements, including guides and forms, can be found at Total Rewards.
