Students interested in applying to Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) programs are not required to have any specific major, however a bachelor’s degree is required before entering dental school. Most dental programs last approximately four years. After completing the program, students can choose to further their education toward a specialty, which will require participation in a residency program.
