Biography

An Alum of UMKC, Obie has been involved with the University in various roles for over 20 years. First as a student, then faculty and now as staff. “I love being a part of UMKC’s Student Health team as it allows me the opportunity to blend my passion for teaching, love for patient care, and desire to mentor young adults all at one place”. 

As a Nurse Practitioner Obie has spent his entire career in service to the urban core of Kansas City, working and volunteering in many of the city’s underserved clinics, and volunteering with many of the KC area youth service organizations.   

He is an adventurer at heart, enjoying traveling the world to provide health care, exploring new cultures, and sharing new ideas. For the past 27 years Obie has served proudly in the U.S. Army and the Navy taking great pride in his service to this country.

He is a proud family man and very……very poor golfer!
