Metered areas are indicated in yellow on the campus maps.
There are several designated accessible metered parking spaces. Individuals must pay the hourly meter fee and display a state-issued disabled plate or placard.
Visitor one-day hangtags ($7 per tag) plus the display of a state-issued disabled plate or placard can be used for parking in faculty/staff and student permit areas or in designated accessible spaces.
Accessible spaces in any of the retail areas for the Colonial Shops or Oak Place are restricted for the use of patrons of these retail shops only.
Student permits for the 2024-2025 academic year will be available for purchase starting July 22nd.
A physician's statement of need must include 1) the need for accessible parking and 2) the time period the accommodation is needed. This permit, when used by itself, allows individuals to park in faculty/staff and student permit areas, but not in specially designated handicap-accessible spaces.
A UMKC accessible permit and a state-issued plate or placard must be displayed in order for an individual to park in any of the designated accessible permit spaces on the campus. A copy of the paid receipt or proof that the state-issued plate or placard belongs to the applicant is required for any vehicle parking in designated accessible spaces on the UMKC campus and must be registered with the Parking Operations office. Individuals who require accessible parking should contact the Parking Operations office.

Proof that the state-issued plate or placard belongs to the applicant must be registered with the Parking Operations office. Individuals who require accessible parking or have questions about accessible parking should contact the Parking Operations office.
