Current high school students and recent high school graduates can be admitted to UMKC in one of three ways, depending on the requirements of their desired program. Admission for first-time college students from outside the United States may require additional steps.

Priority deadlines

Submit your application by the priority deadline for your semester to be considered for one of five automatic scholarships up to $5,000 each academic year.

Nov. 15 — Spring priority deadline for undergraduate students
Jan. 15 — Fall priority deadline for first-time college students
May 1 — Fall priority deadline for transfer students

Credit hours

Apply credit hours you earned in high school (AP, IB and CLEP) and through a departmental exam toward your UMKC degree requirements.

Test scores

If you choose test-optional admission, whether or not you sit for the ACT or SAT is up to you. But your score could help you qualify for scholarships. Use these codes to have your score sent directly to us.

Financial aid

Last year we awarded more than $200 million in financial aid. How much aid you qualify for starts with filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Transcripts

We prefer you request to have your official transcripts sent to us electronically by secure email or electronic transfer through your high school. If you mail us your transcripts, we must receive them in a sealed envelope from the institution from where you requested them.

Status documentation

Students with documented status must mail us a copy of their documentation, including the front and back of the permanent resident card (green card) for permanent residents, I-94 with status stamp for students with refugee or asylum status and I-797 form for students with DACA status.
