College Like You Deserve to Be Here

We're reimagining the way higher education works for the better. That's why we awarded more than $200 million in financial aid last year — to open the doors of opportunity to more students than ever before. Nothing, especially the ability to pay, should stand between you and your UMKC education.

Did you know that you can qualify for in-state or discounted tuition based on where you live? If you're from Missouri, Kansas or one of 15 other Midwestern states, you may qualify for one of our residency rates for undergraduate or graduate students. We also offer a scholarship that grants in-state tuition to eligible undergrads from all 50 states.

Awards You Don't Have to Pay Back

Everyone who wants to go to college, should be able to go to college. Through our scholarship program, 80% of UMKC undergrads are awarded scholarships and grants, many of which they continue to receive each year they're in college.

Automatic scholarships

First-time college students may qualify for an automatic scholarship up to $5,000 each academic year, and transfer students could receive up to $3,500 each academic year they qualify. To be in the running, all you have to do is apply to UMKC by the priority deadline (that's why we call them "automatic").

Competitive scholarships

Each year there are thousands of dollars in awards from sources outside UMKC available for eligible Roos. Submit the competitive scholarship application and any other required materials by the deadline to apply. Our awards specialist in Career Services will even help you find the ones you have the best chance of winning.

State of Missouri awards

Not only are Missouri residents eligible for in-state tuition, but qualified Missourians can apply for a number of grants and scholarships available from the show-me state.

Academic program scholarships

Our schools offer program-specific awards for enrolled students. Check with your desired program for available scholarships.

More Time to Be You
