RooMentum Pathways
Benefits of RooMentum Pathways
RooMentum Pathways offers significant time and cost savings and doubles your advising and support resources.
Every credit counts
You'll have access to all UMKC advising, degree audit and degree planner services and tools, even before you transfer to UMKC. In addition, your community college can send your course transcripts directly to UMKC to make sure you're on track to transfer to UMKC.
Locked-in requirements
Once you're accepted into the RooMentum Pathways program, the graduation requirements of your chosen program will be locked in as your catalog year, even though you may not be attending UMKC for at least another year.
Twice the support
You'll have access to student and academic support services at both your community college and at UMKC.
UMKC community
We want you to feel like a UMKC Roo from the get-go. You'll start receiving UMKC e-newsletters and will be invited to attend special UMKC student events and guest speaker lectures as soon as you're admitted to the program.
State Scholarships
Both Missouri and Kansas offer scholarships for residents of their states attending an in-state community college. Applying for these scholarships can also help you qualify for automatic scholarships from UMKC.
Show me the money
The Missouri A+ Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship that provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+-designated high schools who attend a participating public community college.

A Sure Thing
After you've completed your associate degree and transfer to UMKC, you're guaranteed to receive a renewable $2,500 or $3,500 scholarship reserved for transfer students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) at UMKC.
Partner Community Colleges
Eligible students with at least one year remaining toward an associate degree at Johnson County Community College (JCCC), North Central Missouri College (NCMC) or any one of the four Metropolitan Community College, Kansas City (MCC-KC) campuses (Blue River, Longview, Maple Woods or Penn Valley) may apply to the RooMentum Pathways program.
How Do I Apply?
If you are in good standing with an overall grade point average of 2.25 or higher with at least one year remaining at any of our partner community colleges, you may apply to UMKC to reserve a spot in your chosen program. You officially transfer to UMKC during your final term at community college.
Apply to UMKC
Complete the UMKC general application. Be sure to select "RooMentum Pathways" and indicate which major you're interested in completing at UMKC. These programs are not included in RooMentum Pathways because of limited class sizes or application requirements: architecture, Conservatory, dental hygiene, medicine and nursing.
Don't forget to send us your transcripts.
How do I transfer to UMKC?
During your final term at community college, schedule an appointment with your advisor and complete a transfer application to be fully admitted as a UMKC degree-seeking student.
What if I change my mind?
If you want to switch your major, schedule an advising appointment in UMKC Connect with your assigned UMKC academic advisor.
If RooMentum Pathways no longer fits your goals, email UMKC Admissions or talk with your academic advisor at your community college.
