Students Engaged in the Arts and Research (SEARCH) and Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity (SUROP) grants are available for student-led, faculty-mentored research, scholarly, and creative projects.
To apply for a SUROP or SEARCH grant, first review the complete grant application guidelines. You will need the following information to complete the online application:

Students who plan to apply for SUROP grants are encouraged to attend a workshop to learn more about the application guidelines and strategies for writing a successful proposal. The workshop will offer hands-on writing time for students to draft their applications. The workshop will be held on campus on Wednesday, February 22, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
SEARCH Grant applications for the 2023-2024 Academic Year must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023.
SUROP Grant applications for the 2023 Summer Term will open in January 2023 and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit materials at least 48 hours before the deadline to allow faculty mentors time to upload a recommendation letter and department chairs/division heads to endorse the application before it is reviewed by the Undergraduate Research Advisory Board. Once you submit your application, it cannot be revised.
