The UMKC Gallery of Art is located in the Fine Arts Building, room 203. The Art Gallery curates several shows a year featuring student artwork and guest artists as well as guest lecturers. The Gallery actively accepts submissions and proposals for exhibitions from artists and curators.

The Berkley Center is part of UMKC’s School of Education and serves as a learning laboratory for early childhood education students. Berkley enrolls children of UMKC employees, students and the community as space allows. The Center’s philosophy is to build a relationship between family, child and teacher.
The UMKC Bookstores are wholly owned and operated auxiliaries of the University of Missouri. We operate the UMKC Bookstores to ensure that our students and faculty receive the best possible course materials, service and support. One-hundred percent of the revenue derived from the UMKC Bookstore operations are utilized to provide educational, social, and recreational opportunities for UMKC students.
Students can visit the Student Union Bookstore or the Health Sciences Bookstore to find a wide array of educational materials, including textbooks, office supplies, reference materials and UMKC items. Other services include: textbook reservations, textbook sell-backs, graduation fairs, RooTech technology packages, and convenient payment options.
All extensions within the University begin with 816-235-xxxx. When dialing an extension from a campus phone, only the last four digits need to be entered. Every building on campus contains at least one campus phone. There are no pay phones on campus.
The Dr. Raj Bala Agrawal Care Center at UMKC is here to ensure no Roo goes without. The Cashiers Office is responsible for the billing, collection, and deposit of all student fees. This includes student fees, housing, bookstore, and other special charges made on a student’s account.

The Financial Aid and Scholarships Office (FASO) have many options available to assist students, including scholarships, grants, loans and work opportunities available to qualified students.
Most programs require completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is important for students interested in financial aid apply as soon as possible: February 1 of the preceding academic year is the priority deadline.
FASO administers all UMKC-sponsored scholarship programs and coordinates the awarding of most academic unit scholarships. The office also functions as a resource center for many outside local, national and international scholarship opportunities. In addition, the office is responsible for monitoring financial aid regulations, including Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
The Financial Wellness Center empowers students to take control of their personal finances and achieve their goals. Through free, one-on-one financial coaching, workshops and digital resources, we can help you navigate a wide range of financial topics, including how to pay for college, file the FAFSA, learn to budget, and manage credit and debt.
The Geosciences Museum, opened in 1973, contains about 2,400 rocks, minerals, and fossil specimens from all over the world, including many rare and unusual items. Anyone can visit for free during regular museum hours, and guided tours are available for groups.
The Roo Card Office provides campus IDs to faculty, students, staff and special programs on campus. UMKC Roo Cards can be used to attend UMKC sporting events, eat at dining service locations, make purchases at the Smart Market, check out materials at the campus library, charge books to your student account from the University Bookstore, enter secure campus buildings and residence halls, and get discounts at local and national merchants. Your Roo Card also stores RooBucks to use at select local merchants, campus dining venues and printing at computer labs.
Information Services (IS) provides and supports extensive computer resources for students, faculty, and staff to enhance the learning environment on- and off-campus. Every student enrolled at UMKC is assigned a Single-Sign-On (SSO) username with provides access to campus computer resources, email, and Pathway. Each student also receives a university email account—please note that official university communications will only be sent to this email account and students are responsible for checking their UMKC account for important notices and information.
Student computer labs are located throughout campus. IS-managed labs are staffed by student assistants who can answer questions about e-mail and other basic computing issues.
Chapter 110 of the UM Collected Rules and Regulations governs the acceptable use of technology, facilities and equipment, including computer resources. All students, faculty, staff and guests must adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre is the professional theatre in residence at UMKC and is one of the nation’s leading resident professional theatres. The Rep was founded in 1964 and values its close partnership with the University, its theatre training programs and its role in preparing talent for the future of American Theatre. Kansas City Rep produces up to seven main stage plays each season, employs more than 250 professional artists, technicians and administrators and serves approximately 100,000 patrons annually. The Rep recently expanded with a second location, Copaken Stage, in downtown Kansas City.
The point of contact for Lost and Found on campus is the Student Union Welcome Desk. Items turned in are logged and placed in secure storage. Additionally, individuals may contact the UMKC Police or individual offices to inquire whether their missing items have been turned in.
Students, faculty and staff must purchase permits for parking on campus; short-term parking is available at metered lots. There is no free parking on campus, day or night. Information about parking regulations, permits, meters, tickets and traffic regulations can be found on their website.
Pathway is the system of record for UMKC, providing real-time access to student records, financial aid, cashiering and other functions. Students utilize Pathway to register for classes, view holds, accept financial aid awards, request transcripts, update contact information and access QuickPay. In order to conduct business on-line, students must first provide e-consent, which is requested when a student first accesses Pathway.
The Registration and Records Office is responsible for maintaining student records, enforcing academic policies, evaluating transfer courses, scheduling classrooms, maintaining the Pathway student module, and processing student degrees. RISE: Resources, Intervention, Support and Education provides support, advocacy, awareness education, and prevention training to help end sexual violence, stalking and domestic/dating violence.

Built by students, for students, the Union features 10,000 sq. ft. of space exclusively for student organizations. The Union also houses the Student Government Senate chambers, Division of Student Affairs – Dean of Students Office, Office of Student Involvement, Multicultural Student Affairs, University Bookstore, MindBody Connection, computer lab, lounge areas, coffee shop and performance stage, retail food court, meeting spaces, roof-top terrace, 329-seat theater and a 6,300 sq. ft. multi-purpose room. The facility is LEED Gold Certified and makes innovative use of reclaimed materials, natural lighting and sustainability initiatives.
UMKC welcomes student veterans and recognizes their contributions to the campus community as students and leaders. UMKC provides a comprehensive resource center to assist veterans as well as an active Student Veterans Organization. In addition, the “At Ease Zone” is located in the Student Union, room 310. The “At Ease Zone” is staffed by student-veterans and provides resources, referrals and a place to connect for UMKC student veterans and military connected students.
The UMKC VA certifying official provides veterans with forms to apply for educational benefits. Forms are also available to veterans who wish to transfer benefits from one educational program or institution to another. The certifying official’s primary responsibility is to certify enrollment status of veterans to the Veterans Administration.
