Biography

Alia joined the HR staff in 2017 and is the primary contact for all compensation and classification matters for the university. Due to her family being in the military, Alia moved around often during her childhood before her family settled down in Leavenworth, KS. She earned her undergraduate degree in Interpersonal Communications in 2014 from UMKC. Beginning her career at the university as an HR Assistant, Alia has held multiple positions in the HR Office, including HR Business Partner and her current role as Senior HR Consultant. Alia has made a fulfilling career at her alma mater, where she can help staff, faculty, and students every day. In her free time, Alia loves to binge-watch crime dramas, play video games, and argue with her husband over Kansas City barbeque.
