The Cockefair Chair at UMKC presents an acclaimed lecture series and popular continuing education courses. These programs have engaged Kansas Citians for more than 60 years.
This space serves as a special gathering place for community, regional, national and international scholars, providing a stimulating setting for those activities that characterize a great university but are often peripheral to its resources. Diastole is a location for seminars, retreats, receptions, class reunions, alumni activities, club meetings, journal clubs, specialty society meetings, post-graduate courses, university-community meetings, faculty-student gatherings, discussion groups, luncheon and dinner meetings, receptions, award ceremonies and visiting speakers.
This museum educates, inspires and delights adults and children through its collection and preservation of toys and miniatures. Operating in the historic Tureman Mansion on the corner of 52nd and Oak on the University of Missouri-Kansas city campus, the museum was established in 1982, and features collections of Mary Harris Francis and Barbara Hall Marshall.
