Examples of Programs 

  • Identifying transferable and marketable skills for future careers. 
  • Real-world projects in partnership with external companies/organizations. 
  • Site visits with hands-on activities. 
  • Programs should aim to serve as many students as possible within a given academic program, addressing the specific career needs of your identified student population. 

 

Stipend Information 

The stipend will be disbursed via monthly installments included in your monthly pay during the spring semester (January through May). For any stipend-related queries, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Director of Careers, Davlon Miller, at d.miller@umkc.edu. 

 

Budgeting and Spending 

All program spending must adhere to UMKC's budgeting policies and procedures. Detailed budgeting information will be shared with each program selected program.  

 

Application Process 

To apply, please complete the linked application, providing as much detail as possible. Be advised that not all applicants will be selected, so do your best to articulate how your program will increase students' ability to identify a future career, gain new relevant skills, and/or build networks to support their future career endeavors.

Student Evaluation 

Your program should include a student evaluation reflecting its impact on their career journey. This evaluation can be as simple as collecting three key takeaways or a brief impact statement.  Career services will assist in developing assessments if needed.  

 

Program Evaluation 

At the conclusion of your program, you'll need to complete a program evaluation, incorporating synthesized student evaluation results, your thoughts on the program's strengths and weaknesses, and strategies for its sustainability. Please include a final budget sheet and student evaluation/responses.
