This program involves a one-week residential educational experience for college juniors and seniors designed to increase diversity and opportunity in business education.

Overview

The Summer Venture in Management (SVMP) is a one-week residential educational program for college juniors and seniors designed to increase diversity and opportunity in business education. During SVMP, students are immersed in the Harvard Business School experience. From living in the residence halls to participating in dynamic case study classes, SVMP students get to experience the Harvard Business School MBA with other outstanding peers.

Eligibility

SVMP is geared towards college seniors and juniors who:

  • Are the first family member to attend college, or are from a family with little business education or experience,
  • Identify as a member of a group that is currently underrepresented in business schools and corporate America (e.g. African American, Latino, Native American, LGBTQ+), or
  • Attend a school whose graduates are sometimes underrepresented in business schools and corporate America (e.g. community college as part of a four-year degree or predominantly minority college)

Undocumented students are eligible to apply, but international students are not eligible for SVMP.

Award

Harvard Business School covers all expenses, including room and board. However, you will need to arrange your own transportation to and from the program. If needed, limited financial aid is available to cover travel expenses to the program. Admitted students will be given information on how to request travel reimbursement.
