My goal as an Academic Advisor, and purpose for working within the field of education, is to assist students in successfully making their personal, professional, and academic aspirations a reality. As an advisor, I have the opportunity and responsibility to support and empower students in reaching their goals by gaining a holistic understanding of each student’s specific life circumstances, background, identity, passions, strengths, and interests. With open and honest conversations surrounding students’ academic performance and personal or professional experiences and goals, I partner with students in charting their path forward throughout their academic career and connect them with the best resources and individuals along the way to ensure a successful outcome of their time at UMKC.
