Official Documents

Do I Need to Submit Official Academic Records?

  • In many cases, you can wait until after you are admitted to submit official documents. However, we reserve the right to request official documents before issuing a decision (admit or deny). We will email you if we require official documents during the application process. You can see some common requests in the individual country information below.
  • You might be required to show your official transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas, and degree certificates after you are admitted. If any documents are required, they will be listed on your admission letter. Read your admission letter carefully to determine which documents we have requested from you.
  • Documents that you upload to your online application portal or send by email are not considered official. Please do not upload academic records again after you have been admitted.
  • If we have requested documents in your admission letter, you will receive a hold on your student account. This hold will prevent you from enrolling.
    • You will be allowed to enroll for your first semester using unofficial documents.
    • You will not be able to enroll in any future semester until we receive all the official, final documents we request on your admission letter.
  • If fraud is discovered in any documents submitted at any time to UMKC, the university will take appropriate action, up to and including denying or revoking admission at any time, even after UMKC studies have begun.

How Do I Submit Official Documents?

  • To submit documents from any of the countries listed below, read the information for that country.
  • For any other country, submit official documents through our partner, IERF, using this link specifically for UMKC students: Verification of Records for UMKC - IERF.
    • Do not send documents from yourself to IERF. IERF will only accept documents directly from your school.
    • Please read IERF emails carefully to understand all options for submitting documents.
    • For questions about the IERF process, please use the phone number or email address provided at the bottom of the IERF page.

If you attended high school or university in the People's Republic of China, please send an English CHESICC verification of your transcript and degree certificate to isaoadmissions@umkc.edu
  • If you have already graduated, we must receive your CHESICC report before reviewing your application.
  • If you have not graduated yet, we will review your application with the documents you uploaded, but you must submit a CHESICC report after you graduate. You will not be able to continue enrolling after your first semester until we receive your CHESICC report.
  • If you attended a school that CHESICC cannot verify, use IERF as instructed in the General information section.

UMKC should be able to access your results directly on the Cambridge Assessment website.
