Biography

Amanda completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in Leadership Studies and Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studies at Kansas State University. During her undergraduate career, she served as a peer Career Specialist at the university’s Career Center which sparked her passion for developing students. Before transitioning to higher education, Amanda spent the first five years of her career in a corporate setting in learning and development, leading professional development and leadership and management training programs for employees; she also helped lead the company’s collegiate internship program. She is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, Certified BlueEQ facilitator, and a Certified DDI Facilitator. Amanda’s combined experience in talent development, career services, and post-grad career and leadership development has led her to pursue her career in helping students thrive during and especially after college. She believes it takes a village to help young adults thrive after college, and she is thrilled to be part of the “village” at UMKC!

Amanda is a wife, dog mom, and has her first baby on the way! She enjoys spending time with her church community and family, loves a good coffee shop meet-up, dreams of working in a floral shop, is a wannabe interior designer, and will never say no to cookie cake.
