Note: If you still have issues please “forget network” before connecting to eduroam.
Select your operating system for detailed instructions
iOS / iPhone / iPad / iPod tap
- Tap 'Settings'
- Tap 'Wi-Fi'
- Under 'Choose a Network' tap on 'eduroam'
- Enter your UMKC username and password, with your username in the format: sso@umsystem.edu.
- Tap 'Join'
- You will be prompted to accept a certificate from 'InCommon Server CA'. tap 'Trust'.
- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
- Note: If the screen gets stuck with the message 'joining' click cancel and start over. Periodically the iPhone will not catch on the first try.
Android
- These instructions assume this is not the first setup of the Android device. The Android Operating System has a reputation of varying slightly from one manufacturer to another. There may be small differences in the settings but they should be very close to the following:
- Tap the Menu Key then select 'Settings'.
- Tap 'Wireless and network'.
- Select Wi-Fi settings.
- The device will automatically locate available networks.
- Tap eduroam,
- Select EAP Method: PEAP
- Identity: UMKCSSO@umsystem.edu
- Password: UMKC Password
- CA Certificate: Don’t Validate
- Tap Connect
- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
Windows 10
- Click the Ethernet/Wireless button on the bottom right corner of the taskbar.
- You should see a list of available wireless SSIDs. Select eduroam and click Connect.
- Click connect to trust the eduroam certificate. You will need to trust the certificate at each location you visit.
- Enter your UMKC username and password in the format: SSO@umsystem.edu
- Once you see the following connected, secured box you are on the eduroam network.
Mac OSX
- From the desktop, click on the wireless icon on the top right menu bar. You should see a list of SSID on the screen. Select eduroam.
- Enter your UMKC username and password in the format: SSO@umsystem.edu.
- You will be prompted to accept a certificate from ‘InCommon Server CA’ click continue.
- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
