Students who receive the award are recognized for their musical and academic excellence, leadership and contributions to an inclusive community.

Recipients of the Presser Award receive a significant monetary award to be used at their discretion. Boyer will use the monetary award to attend the International Double Reed Society conference this summer, where he has been selected to perform as a masterclass participant for renowned oboist Gordon Hunt. The five-day conference features round-table discussions, lectures and presentations, reading sessions and world-class performances.
