Take Your Child to Work Day
National Take Your Child to Work Day takes place on the fourth Thursday of April every year, and this year it falls on Thursday, April 25. UMKC invites you and your children to help us celebrate this occasion.
Throughout the day on Thursday, April 25, parents and their children will be able to choose from an array of activities with different departments across the Volker campus. Activities range from arts & crafts to a scavenger hunt, sports, and science demonstrations along with the opportunity to tour some of the campuses most beloved museums and galleries. Children can also participate in a special meet and greet with UMKC’s beloved mascot, KC Roo. Children of all ages are welcome to attend this event.
This day will also be a great opportunity for high school aged children who are considering becoming a future UMKC Roo. They can spend the day on our beautiful campus and get to know more about the educational opportunities and programs offered here at UMKC through a campus tour with Admissions.
Although we encourage everyone to participate in Take Your Child to Work Day, please seek approval from your supervisor to ensure departmental guidelines are followed and proper coverage is met. A “Supervisor Approval” form will be required to register for the event.
All employees who are planning to bring their children to work on April 25, 2024, will need to register their children and sign a “Waiver” for each child planning to attend. Registration will close at 5pm on Tuesday, April 23.
