Registration is now open for UM System's Spring 2024 Supervisor Development Series.
What is Supervisor Development Series?
Supervisor Development Series (SDS) is a 100% virtual learning experience that incorporates a mix of live, instructor-led sessions and independent course work intended to provide new supervisors with the introductory information and resources they will need to effectively perform their supervisory responsibilities.
Supervisor Development Series Format and Curriculum
SDS is comprised of seven live, instructor led sessions (90-minutes each, 100% virtual) and asynchronous work assigned through a “learning journey” in Percipio.
Sessions offered weekly in a continuous rotation throughout the year. This format enables flexibility for make-up sessions, timely start for new hires and a predictable format for planning purposes for both participants and facilitators.
Program curriculum includes:
- Communication, Professionalism and Foundations of Supervision (asynchronous)
- Culture and Inclusion
- Interviewing, Selecting and Onboarding Employees
- Coaching Conversations and Performance Feedback
- Leave and Accommodations
- Effective Discipline and Navigating Conflict
- Employee Engagement and Recognition
Who Can Sign Up?
Any new supervisor and those with existing supervisory responsibilities are welcome and encouraged to register for the live sessions through Percipio.
