In preparation of a full return to campus for the fall semester, UMKC Mail Operations is updating and expanding service plans. Beginning Monday, Aug. 2, the following mail service enhancements will be in effect:
New Convenient Location
All mail will be available for pick up and drop off at this new location:
General Services Building (GSB)
1011 E. 51st Street
Campus Facilities Management, Suite 101
GSB is located directly south of the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences building, on the southwest corner of 51st Street and Troost Avenue. This new location helps campus space consolidation efforts and allows us to provide better customer support.
Parking is available on the north side of the street in lot 32, directly across from GSB’s main entrance. ADA access is available on the west side of the building from parking lot 1. All mail services will now be hosted in this new location, and there will be no services available at the former facility in the Cherry Street Parking Structure. Bulk mail will be received for processing at GSB’s south side loading dock.
Expanded Hours for Pick Up and Drop Off
Units will now be able to pick up and drop off mail anytime Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No appointments or prearrangements will be necessary. All mail will be sorted and placed in each unit’s mail slot daily. Parcels will be available in the same location as well. Customer service staff will also be available in the office to assist with questions, mailing instructions and postage needs.
Continued Limited Courier Delivery
Due to its large volume, Administrative Center mail will continue to be delivered, sorted and available for unit pick up daily at the current mailbox location on the Mezzanine. Outgoing mail will continue to be picked up from the mezzanine location daily as well. In addition, due to its large volume, KCUR mail will continue to be picked up and delivered daily. All mail services to and from Health Sciences Campus and courier services to Columbia will continue as they are now.
We are excited to offer these expanded services for FY22. If you have questions about campus mail operations, you can call the CFM main number, 816-235-1354, or email CFMTeam@umkc.edu.
