Campus working groups are making great progress on UMKC Forward, a plan unveiled in March that will invest more than $50 million to $60 million over the next five years in five key investments designed to achieve growth and excellence for Kansas City’s university.
UMatters, the faculty and staff e-newsletter, will provide regular updates on key developments with UMKC Forward in each edition. Today’s update is on the UMKC Professional Mobility Escalators™ investment.
Provost Jenny Lundgren announced the following timeline for milestones to be completed between now and June 30 on developing the signature student success program. The UMKC Professional Mobility Escalators (PME) program will launch in Fall 2022.
Milestones include:
Establish faculty working group for Health PME Track (led by Provost Lundgren) and for Education PME Track (led by Assistant Vice Provost for Student Success Kristi Holsinger.)
Begin regular subcommittee planning meetings on the following PME areas:
- Cohorts, experiences/services, professional access needs, applied learning (Faculty)
- Leadership badging and transcription (Student Affairs)
- Application and admission process (Enrollment Management, Registrar)
- Scholarshipping, living learning communities (Financial Aid, Residential Life)
- Marketing, community engagement (Strategic Marketing and Communications, External Relations and Constituent Engagement)
- Strategic goals, program evaluation and assessment (PME Director)
