Applicants who demonstrate experience in formulating a research question or topic to explore, identifying an appropriate methodology, carrying out the project and publishing or presenting results beyond the classroom or research group are named Undergraduate Research Fellows.
The designation is recorded on the student’s official transcript and is included in the commencement program. Students earning the honor also receive a commemorative medal.
Students may apply for the Undergraduate Research Fellow designation at any time in their academic career. Application deadlines are March 1 in the spring semester and October 1 in the fall semester.
