We are excited to share the news about two important positions in our university community.

Tammy Welchert, Ph.D., will become our new director of Academic Advising. She will begin her new duties July 20.

Tammy has been a member of our UMKC community since 1999. She served most recently as associate teaching professor and director of student affairs and academic advising at the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences. As director, Tammy will implement the new centralized advising model and oversee the gradual transition of advising to the Office of Student Success.

Kristen Temple is joining UMKC as our new director of residential life. She has extensive experience in similar leadership positions in higher education, most recently at Mizzou, where she served as an associate director of residential life.
