Women of Color Leadership Conference

The Women of Color Leadership Conference is an annual conference that seeks to provide an environment for, by and about women of color that promotes equity, education and professional development.

You are cordially invited to attend the Women of Color Leadership Conference hosted by UMKC's Division of Diversity and Inclusion. The conference, themed "We Are Better Together," will be held on Friday, April 14 from 8:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in UMKC’s Student Union. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. and a continental breakfast provided.

This event supports UMKC’s Pillar 4: Fostering and Environment of Invigorating Multiculturalism, Globalism, Diversity and Inclusion. The conference will feature a keynote address from Tiffany S.W. Hamilton, chief executive officer, YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester, White Plains, New York.

About the Keynote Speaker

Tiffany S.W. Hamilton (she/her/hers) joined the YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester as CEO in October 2022. Tiffany previously served as the inaugural chief diversity officer of Pace University where she developed the diversity, equity and inclusion blueprint for the university of over 13,000. At Pace, Tiffany also established the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, where she leveraged the six offices to support DEI efforts across the three-campus institution. Additionally, she partnered with Pace leadership to establish the Barry M. and Jackie Gosin Center for Equity and inclusion securing a $2M gift for its founding. Previously, Tiffany was the inaugural Chief Diversity Officer of Westchester Community College where she executed a plan to address equity gaps in student achievement and refined the hiring process provided strategies for more effective communication and engagement. Tiffany’s involvement went beyond the college campus into the community. For example, she engaged with AJC of Westchester and Fairfield and co-chaired an annual Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast.

Whether it’s throughout halls of academia, boardrooms of corporations or charitable organizations, Tiffany’s commitment to access and support is grounded in equity and inclusive excellence. She communicates vision and purpose and builds consensus across multiple dimensions.

Tiffany is a sought-after thought leader and has supported nonprofit organizations with annual budgets exceeding $16 million. In one case, she crafted six-year DEI plans submitted to New York state.

As an active member in the Westchester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Tiffany serves on the executive board as first vice president and chair of program planning and development. In May 2019 Tiffany was honored as the Social Justice Champion by the YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester. Tiffany holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and a master’s degree in higher education administration from UMKC. Her life’s motto is "lead by serving and gain by giving.” Above all, her greatest role is serving as mom to Imani Everette and wife to Ron C. Hamilton.
