This course focuses on the critical problems of managing the waste materials generated in our society. The course includes discussion of various types of waste-municipal solid waste, hazardous (industrial) waste, nuclear and medical wastes. Sources, handling, storage, transportation, treatment and disposal of these wastes are reviewed. Experts from government and the waste management industry give guest lectures. Prerequisites: None.
