This course is designed to introduce the rich and unique development of the major American healthcare fields as disciplines, professions, arts, and sciences from a historical perspective. Trends and issues in public heath, medicine, and physical therapy will be identified and discussed. The social, philosophical, cultural, and political forces which have impacted the course of these topics will be examined from ancient to modern times.
