Diane Filion Center for
Advancing Faculty Excellence

You teach more than content and skills in your discipline — you also help students learn. We've provided these resources for the development of teaching and learning, from embracing student diversity to designing universally accessible courses.
After completing a faculty learning community on accessible course design, participants shared:
  • "This was a great experience. I wish more departments would get involved as I hear a need from students to have faculty understand more about how they learn and more options for assessment."
  • "It was inspiring to learn tools that can make my teaching more accessible to students and also heartwarming to be part of a group so deeply committed to students' learning and wellbeing."
  • "Participating in the Accessibility and Inclusion FLC was eye-opening and useful to improve and enhance my classroom teaching and mentoring. I already valued this approach but through the FLC I learned about many more tools and strategies and have already had the chance to make small changes to my classes that my students have been excited about and have helped them to be more successful."
  • "This Accessible Teaching FLC was very useful. Laura provided a large amount of resources during and after the live sessions. Alexis is also amazing as sharing resources and illustrating examples of Accessible Teaching within the course itself. Alexis also provided several of us with books for the CAFE library and made time for some of use to reflect on best ways to implement what we were learning."
